1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Handoff mobile application ("App") or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our services.

2. About Handoff

​

Handoff is a digital platform that connects customers who need tasks completed with independent service providers ("Taskers") who can perform those tasks. Handoff acts as an intermediary platform and is not a party to the actual service agreements between customers and Taskers.

3. User Accounts

​

Account Creation

  •  You must be at least 18 years old to create an account

  •  You must provide accurate, current, and complete information

  •  You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account

  •  You may not share your account credentials with others

​

Account Types

  •  Customer Account: For posting tasks and hiring Taskers

  •  Tasker Account: For offering services and completing tasks

  •  Users may have both account types

​

4. Services and Platform Use

For Customers

  •  Post task requests with clear descriptions and requirements

  •  Review Tasker profiles and bids before making selections

  •  Communicate respectfully with Taskers

  •  Pay agreed-upon amounts promptly through the platform

  •  Provide safe working conditions and necessary access​

For Taskers

  •  Create accurate profiles showcasing your skills and experience

  •  Submit competitive bids for tasks you can complete

  •  Perform services professionally and safely

  •  Complete tasks as agreed and on time

  •  Maintain appropriate licenses and insurance as required by law

5. Payments and Fees

​

Payment Processing​

  •  All payments are processed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor

  •  Customers authorize payment when accepting a Tasker's bid

  •  Funds are held securely until task completion is confirmed

​

Service Fees

  •  Handoff charges a service fee on completed transactions

  •  Fees are clearly displayed before transaction completion

  •  Taskers receive payment minus applicable platform fees

Refunds and Disputes​​

  •  Refund eligibility depends on specific circumstances

  •  Disputes must be reported within 48 hours of task completion

  •  Handoff reserves the right to mediate disputes and determine outcomes​

6. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

​​

You agree NOT to:​

  •  Violate any local, state, national, or international laws

  •  Harass, abuse, or harm other users

  •  Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content

  •  Attempt to bypass payment systems or fees

  •  Use the platform for illegal activities

  •  Share contact information to circumvent platform fees

  •  Create multiple accounts to manipulate ratings or reviews

  •  Post tasks that violate our community guidelines

7. Safety and Background Checks

Tasker Verification

  •  Taskers may be subject to background checks

  •  Background check results may affect account approval

  •  Users are responsible for their own safety precautions

Platform Responsibility​

  •  Handoff provides the platform but does not guarantee user safety

  •  Users interact with each other at their own risk

  •  Report safety concerns immediately through the app

8. Intellectual Property

User Content​

  •  You retain ownership of content you post

  •  You grant Handoff a license to use your content for platform operations

  •  You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to posted content

Platform Content​

  •  Handoff owns all platform design, features, and functionality

  •  Users may not copy, modify, or distribute platform elements

  •  Handoff trademarks and logos are protected intellectual property

9. Privacy and Data​​

  •  Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy

  •  By using Handoff, you consent to data collection and processing as described

  •  Location data is collected to facilitate task matching and completion

  •  Communications between users may be monitored for safety and quality

10. Task Completion and Quality

​​

Standards​

  •  Tasks must be completed to reasonable professional standards

  •  Customers should provide clear instructions and requirements

  •  Both parties should communicate openly about expectations

Reviews and Ratings​

  •  Users may leave honest reviews based on their experience

  •  False or malicious reviews are prohibited

  •  Reviews help maintain platform quality and trust

11. Platform Availability

Service Availability​

  •  We strive to maintain platform availability but cannot guarantee 100% uptime

  •  Scheduled maintenance may temporarily interrupt services

  •  Force majeure events may affect platform operations

  • Geographic Limitations

  •  Services may not be available in all geographic areas

  •  Local laws and regulations may restrict certain service types

12. Limitation of Liability

  •  Handoff acts as an intermediary and is not liable for user interactions

  •  We do not guarantee task completion, quality, or user satisfaction

User Responsibility​

  •  Users are responsible for their own actions and interactions

  •  Verify Tasker credentials and insurance independently

  •  Take appropriate safety precautions during task performance

13. Indemnification​​

You agree to indemnify and hold Handoff harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  •  Your use of the platform

  •  Your violation of these Terms

  •  Your interactions with other users

  •  Content you post or share

14. Termination

​​

Account Termination​

  •  Either party may terminate accounts at any time

  •  Handoff may suspend or terminate accounts for Terms violations

  •  Outstanding payments and obligations survive account termination

​​

Effect of Termination​

  •  Access to platform services ends immediately

  •  User data may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy

  •  Ongoing task obligations must still be fulfilled

​​

15. Dispute Resolution

​​

Internal Resolution​

  •  Contact customer support first for all disputes

  •  We will attempt to mediate disputes between users

  •  Platform decisions on disputes are final

​​

Legal Disputes​

  •  These Terms are governed by US law

  •  Legal disputes will be resolved in US courts

  •  Users may pursue small claims court remedies where applicable

16. Changes to Terms

​​

  •  We may update these Terms periodically

  •  Significant changes will be communicated via app notification or email

  •  Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance

  •  Previous versions remain available upon request

By using Handoff, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are effective as of 15 Sep 2025 and apply to all users of the Handoff platform and services.
